Bible is the holy scripture of Christians. It consists of two parts, (i) The old
Testament, which incorporates the rulers and norms framed before
the birth of Jesus Christ and (ii) The New Testament that contains rules and norms
framed after the birth of Jesus Christ. Christians go to Church on every Sunday
and praise Jesus Christ and offer profound thanks in his holy name and sing hymns
in his praise. They also read few verses from their holy Bible and, pray for peace,
prosperity and good health not only of their community members but also of the entire
human race

This festival, which is celebrated from the 25th In 29 th day
of the eleventh Tibetan month annually falls the month of December, and this is
the time when common people relieve a sign of relief after having harvested their
winter crops. Therefore, the farmers are not only free with plenty of leisure during
this time of the year but also carefree because of their barns being filled with
crops and purse with money, because cash crop such as Cadamom is also harvested
during this season. So all factors are very conducive for the celebration of this
festival which generates maximum of joy and mirth in the community.

During this festival all put on new clothes and take delicacies. They go to meet
their relatives and also invite them in return, forgiving and forgetting all the
previous unpleasant and strained relationship between them and cordially exchange
pleasanties and good wishes for the future.

|
They all go to their gumpas to perform Loshi Kurim Puja and pay
homage to the Guru of Lord Buddha, Rimpochay Padmasamvab, the tantrick guru and
other reincarnated gurus by offering dhog, water and sweets and by lighting butter
lights - and in return very politely and eagerly receive blessings and cho from
their gurus. These ritualistic performances not only make them happy also make them
spiritually contented and elated. The celebration continues for five days

Another ritualistic aspect of this festival is its mask dance. It is performed at
gumpas to ward off the effects of evil spirits and unfavourable planets. Competitions
of archery and chelo are also organized as communal entertainment. Finally the week
long festival ends with the visit to different relatives and by throwing feasts

|
|
As the festival of dasai is very important to Sikkimese Nepali so is Loshung to
Sikkimese Bhutia which helps them in establishing their separate identify in the
state.
