Christmas Day (Bara-Din)

"0ne day a virgin would conceive and give birth to a son in Bethlahem, who would be the messiah of human beings on earth. He would be called Immanuel” This was the prophecy made many many years ago before the birth of Jesus Christ.

Accordingly, virgin Mary gave birth to a son at Bethlahem on the night of 25th December, who later on came to be known as Jesus Christ. He was, indeed, the prophesized messiah. That is why, Christmas, the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ, is celebrated throughout the Christian community on 25th December every year. Christians consider Jesus Christ as the only son of their Heavenly Father and Christmas as their most important religious festival.

On this joyful day, all Christians go to church and sing hymns, read the Bible ( their holy scripture), and offer thanks and prayers to Jesus Christ, who sacrificed his life for the deliverance of human beings from their sins. The day's congregation also thanks the Heavenly Father for everything he has given to them besides a safe and peaceful life.

Christmas is also the most appropriate occasion for all Christians to exchange gifts and good wishes with each other in order to renew their cordial relationship and to establish unity, peace and fraternity in their community

As stated earlier, Christians believe that the only son of their Heavenly Father had to be born on this earth as a human being because the Father loved men very much. He sent his son Jesus Christ on earth to lead and guide the wayward people and to deliver them from their sins, the entailment of which is death, and to ensure them an eternal life in heaven where peace and joy prevails. That is why Jesus Christ ever sacrificed his life for the sake of those who were completely drowned in the ocean of materialistic world.

They also believe that no one can remain free from sins after being born as man. He commits sins through his thoughts, dreams, words, characters, behaviours and even through his secret and clandestine longings. And a man is bound to bear the punishment for all the sins he commits knowingly or unknowingly. There is only one way for him to save himself from such a heavenly punishment, that is by, sincerely regretting for his sins and by taking refuse in the Heavenly Father by accepting and requesting Jesus Christ to clean all his sins with his holy blood which he shed for all the sinners. This, according to them, is the only means through which a sinner can not only save himself from being damned, but also earn an eternal life after death in heaven, because the holy blood of Jesus Christ and no one else, can wash the sin of a man and purify him

Adam, the first man created by God on the earth and through whom human generations started, was created by God in his own form and with his own life breath. That is why a man is completely different from other animals. He is the greatest of all creations with the ability and intellect to praise and appreciate his creator, to fear about him, to sing hymns in his praise and above all, to pray to him all the time.

The Bible says that the Parmeshwar is the master of all creations: Everything that is found in the universe are his creations. There is not even a single thing in the universe which is not his creation. Therefore, all the creations including the universe itself, will have to obey his command, the command of the creator.

Jesus Christ was crucified on Friday and this day is called Good Friday. After three days, on Sunday, he resurrected to the astonishment of all his followers and lookers. This auspicious day is called Easter Sunday. These two days, being important and valuable for Christians world over, the Govt. declares holidays and Christians go to their church to pray to the Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ. They thank them for their love and for liberating them from their sins and for granting them eternal life, safety and peace of mind.

The Christians also believe that Jesus Christ who sacrificed even his life for the salvation of sinners at the behest of Heavenly Father, entered the heaven, the abode of his father forty days after his death on a cross.

Bible is the holy scripture of Christians. It consists of two parts, (i) The old Testament, which incorporates the rulers and norms framed before the birth of Jesus Christ and (ii) The New Testament that contains rules and norms framed after the birth of Jesus Christ.

Christians go to Church on every Sunday and praise Jesus Christ and offer profound thanks in his holy name and sing hymns in his praise. They also read few verses from their holy Bible and, pray for peace, prosperity and good health not only of their community members but also for the entire human race
